Background: -This company provides bespoke joinery and shop-fitting services to retailers all over the UK. The business was fast outgrowing their current location and a move was on the cards. The managing director was keen to ensure that any move was as cost effective as possible – in addition he was interested in obtaining grants to ease the process. What Platinum Did: -We carried out a short review of the business’ current activities and planned changes to determine what (if any) grants would be relevant to the organisation. A suitable grant was identified so we discussed the business proposition with grant body and then arranged for the fund holder from the grant body to visit our client and explain the grant conditions and ensure that an application would be appropriate. Once given the go ahead from grant body, we prepared application with supporting business plans and financial projections. We also liaised with grant body to get feedback on changes identified as business plan was developed The Results: -The grant body was unable to proceed as new criteria where set during the time we made the application. Platinum identified alternative grant providers (albeit for smaller amounts) however client decided not to proceed. Clients Comments: -“Consultant provided clear information and we would work with them again. Could have been less optimistic about the possibility of grant being obtained” Additional Info: Our work with this client was subsidised using the P10 programme from Business Link therefore normal cost for support was reduced by 50% |
